At a recent meeting, we were honored to have
Dr Phillip Porter speak to our group. Dr. Porter is a
leading Neurosurgeon in the Eau Claire area. His clinic,
the Brain and Spine Institute is located on the first
floor of Sacred Heart Hospital. Dr. Porter spoke on many
interesting topics and answered many questions from the
attending chiropractors. Many of the questions and
subsequent discussions centered around the recent
developments in artifical discs and the latest back
surgery techniques . The many chiropractors that were
present thoroughly enjoyed his presentation, and were
grateful for his the time that he took out of his busy
schedule to share with us.
The Chippewa Valley
Chiropractic Alliance is a social and charitable
organization consisting of many local chiropractic
offices. We meet 12:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the
month at various local restaurants in the Eau Claire
area in order to discuss topics which are of current
interest to our profession. We have also had several
local chiropractors share different areas of their
expertise with our group. Our meetings involve some
business, but are mostly social in nature, with an
attempt to get the chiropractors of the area familiar
with each other. Our organization exists to collectively
give back to the community beyond just our individual
talents and abilities. Our big push this year has been a
joint effort between the CVCA and the Northwest Express
Baseball team to help celebrate the 110th birthday of
chiropractic, with the proceeds being donated to the Big
Brothers-Big Sisters organization. We ended up giving
two thousand dollars to BBBS.
